12×12 Update for May

Better late than never! I wanted to report on how this month’s 12×12 challenge went. For those of you who don’t know, I am trying to do Julie Hedlund’s 12×12 Challenge. It is a challenge to write 12 picture book drafts in 12 months in 2012. You can click on the 12×12 banner on the right side bar or the one above to learn more about it. May was a super busy month for me but I did meet the goal I set for myself last month. I am writing about a friendly tornado (I wrote about it during PiBoIdMo and people seemed to like the idea 😮 ) that likes to help people fix and build things but everyone is afraid of him. Hopefully now that school is almost over for the summer I will have even more time. I am having a lot of fun with 12×12. Are you?

  1. Erik, I didn’t finish either. I was working on a history piece and needed primary sources that are only available at the Princeton University Library. Ooops! I’m off to a good start for June though. I love your tornado idea. In fact, you might enjoy the post I put up tomorrow, which is about….tornados!

    • I’ll have to check your post out tomorrow! I am glad you like my idea! I think the research you do is cool! I am happy with what I got done this month. I don’t think I could write a whole draft in a month anyway… maybe during the summer?

  2. Congratulations, Erik! Your story ideas are fabulous!

  3. This is the first month that I didn’t get even a very rough draft written. Oh well. I just can’t do it all, but hopefully I can get one ready this month.
You are doing very well, Eric. I am so proud of you! 🙂

  4. Love the tornado idea, Erik. So pleased you’re doing 12×12. You’re an inspiration.

  5. In answer to your question, YES! 🙂 And I love the sound of your tornado idea – nice twist 🙂

  6. Your story idea is quite intriguing! 12×12 has been a howling gale for me.
