Today I have a cool type of review for you! Renee C. (the Mother) of the Mother Daughter Book Review Blog and I are reviewing the same book so you can read a Mother/Daught…ERR I mean Mother/Erik review of the same book! Here is a bit about what Renee C. Thought of it –
“Once I started reading this book, I couldn’t put it down. It is a non-stop rollicking adventure filled with mystery, peril, and intrigue all set within the backdrop of culturally and historically rich Egypt.”

Adam and Justin were going to Egypt on vacation to visit their Aunt Isabel and Gran for about a week. When they arrive in Egypt, Adam is given three scarabs from a street peddler and that’s when the adventure begins! Adam realizes he was also given a black scarab and there is an evil doctor named Khalid who is desperate to get it at ANY cost! Adam and Justin try to find out what is so special about the scarab and what it has to do with the legend of the Scarab King before it is too late!
This story ROCKED! It was exciting, action-filled, adventurous and history filled book! It pretty much had everything me (as a boy) would want in a book – danger, mystery, legends, exciting setting, myths and much more. The story was written really well and it kept me reading page after page. I really liked the simple pencil illustrations in the book. I liked the characters of Justin and Adam. They were both nice, smart and brave. The book has no bad language or graphic violence in it.
