My favorite red crocodile Crosley is back in a new adventure! John is having trouble sleeping again. Crosley comes and takes John on another “program” (or adventure). Crosley is part of a secret agency that helps kids who can’t fall asleep at night. Crosley is a Night Buddie. John and Crosley start out on the adventure, but there is a problem. Crosley starts getting blamed for all kinds of things he isn’t doing. Crimes are being committed and Crosley is getting blamed! Soon John and Crosley find out some red crocodile IMPOSTERS are responsible for all the wrong-doing! The friends need to stop the imposters, get John a good night’s sleep and keep Crosley out of jail!
This is a great sequel to the first book in this series (Night Buddies and the Pineapple Cheesecake Scare, see my review HERE). I love the idea of the Night Buddies, a secret agent program to help kids get tired and go to sleep. The book had lots of humor in it and it is appropriate for kids of all ages. Even though the story has crimes being committed, they are things like stealing mothballs, creating messes, and other silly stuff. John and Crosley are great characters and they are fun to read about. Crosley’s brother, Crenwinkle, is actually met in this book and he is another great character. I especially like him because he is an inventor. Some parents may not like the purposely misspelled words and made up words (Crosley speaks very unusually), but I liked it and thought it really made Crosley have a cool personality. I am looking forward to the next book in the series!
