Bella Elizabeth Rixway LOVED dogs and they loved her. Sadly, Bella’s allergies prevented her from having a dog of her own. Her parents wouldn’t allow it. One day, Bella finds an abandoned dalmatian dog that was trapped in an old garage. Bella knows she must save the dog or he will die! Bella convinces her friend, Karen to help her bring the dog back to good health. The friends go into the garage and give the dog food and water and make him comfy. Once “Petey” feels like himself though, mayhem breaks loose!

I love a good dog story! This is a short book but it tells a nice complete story. It is written well for middle-grade or advanced young readers. Bella is a nice character that both boys and girl will like. The plot is exciting with a bunch of twists in it and it has all the emotions you can think of in it. Like I said, I like a good dog story… especially those with a happy ending. πŸ™‚

Dalmations are my husband’s favorite dog! Sounds like a heartwarming story. πŸ™‚

I love a good dog story too. This one sounds fantastical! I will see if I can find it. Any animal story deos me good! I was really glad to hear yesterday was positive for you. Talking about what you can do to help the tornado victims in your class is really, really positive. Guess what? People asked us to keep it going through today. Now that’s positive. πŸ™‚

That looks like a cute story, Erik. Love to know what mayhem they get up

It is very hard on a child who suffers allergies but loves animals. What a toss up – to have and to hold a beloved pet and ;learn the many things such as loyalty and responsibility that a pet teaches, or to suffer from allergies and allow that to dictate your life…hmmmmmmmmmm!

Sounds like a good dog book for kids. Sounds like a good chapter book/MG book with a great plot.

I’m also a sucker for a good dog story. I tend to not read the sad ones anymore, though, so glad it ends well. πŸ™‚

I haven’t read many sad dog books, but I’ve heard that the dog dies or gets real sick and makes an amazing comeback in every book/movie…

I like a good dog story too!!!! Especially one with a happy ending too!!! I know quite a few kids who have allergies and yet manage to have a dog. I hope Bella figures out this problem. Thanks for sharing! I’ll have to check this one out!

Happy endings are nice. Can you believe I’ve never owned a dog? And it’s all because of allergies… So this story sounds perfect to me.

That’s sad… But I think you would like this book and you would not start sneezing in the middle of it! πŸ˜‰

I love the cover. This sounds like my kind of book. Yep, most any dog or cat or baseball book and I am in. Would like to read this one. Nice review, Erik.

Oh, I love animal stories, especially those with happy endings. I will definitely look for this book. I volunteer at our local animal shelter – shelter pets make the best pets!

This story is really nice! The dog and cat we had came from shelters and they were awesome pets! Thanks for your comment!

Dog stories always get to me. I am reading a HF book about WWII and dogs and I am very touched by the storyline. This book sounds like a winner. Thanks for sharing.
