Paddington Bear Comes to the Big Screen!

3 Jul

This Christmas, a small bear will make a big splash.

From the beloved novels by Michael Bond and producer David Heyman (HARRY POTTER), PADDINGTON tells the story of the comic misadventures of a young Peruvian bear who travels to the city in search of a home. Finding himself lost and alone, heย  begins to realize that city life is not all he had imagined – until he meets the kindly Brown family who read the label around his neck that says “Please look after this bear. Thank you,” and offer him a temporary haven. It looks as though his luck has changed until this rarest of bears catches the eye of a museum taxidermist.

Director: Paul King
Written by: Paul King
Screenplay by: Henry Paul King
Cast: Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, Peter Capaldi and Nicole Kidman

I am excited to watch this movie. Paddington is so cute. It’s been a while since I read the stories, I’ll have to re-read them. I think the movie looks hilarious (but I like goofy movies ๐Ÿ˜‰ ). I think Paddington looks a bit tall, but I like the animation and the details in him. I’ll have to do a book vs. movie post after I see it. ๐Ÿ™‚ I hope you all get to see this movie when it comes out on Christmas Day, 2014!

Check out the trailer and tell me what you think of the movie Paddington.

My goodness, Erik. You’re doing pre-movie reviews now? When do you have the time? I like Paddington Bear and cannot wait for a review comparing the two.

Thanks for sharing the trailer Erik. It looks like a fun movie filled with Paddington’s adventures. I’ve always loved the Paddington books and it’s great to see him coming to the big screen ๐Ÿ™‚

This looks adorable! Great bathroom scene lol Sometimes you wonder why it took so long for something like Paddington to make it to film!

I hadn’t heard of this movie coming out. I’m going to have to see it as well. I have fond memories of these books from when I was a child.

My daughter loved Paddington. This bear is very cute but doesn’t look like the original. Not sure from the trailer if I could cope with so many disasters, but little ones will surely love it.

Paddington has never been a big favorite around this house for some reason. All the kids that have come through here have been big Pooh fans and kind of ignored Paddington. I don’t know why that is. The movie looks pretty silly, funny. I’ll have to wait til it comes out on DVD and in the meantime, catch your review.
