Synopsis- Do you take delight in winning? Do you not like others getting the better of you? Then this is the book for you! Learn how to get out of gym class, and how to avoid your older relatives’ giant kisses! Win at Rock-Paper-Scissors every time! All this and much more in the Naughty Kid’s Handbook!
What I Thought- This was a pretty funny book. I like how Mr. Green makes sure that you know the difference between practical jokes and delinquent-activities – the jokes are “naughty” while the activities are just plain stupid. The book has fun pranks to play on others (like convincing your sibling that their room is haunted), and also fun things to do to get what you want, but there is nothing mean-spirited in the book. There are nice looking illustrations throughout the book. I liked the little “fact” boxes mixed in the chapters – there are three facts in the box, and you have to determine which ones are facts and which are fake. That was fun. The author is British, but the majority of British English is easily understood by an American reader. Who’s up for a game of rock, paper scissors?
I give this book five out of five bookworms!
