As of the end of Novemberย  I will no longer be a Scholastic News Kid Press Corps Reporter. In December, I turn 15 and that’s too old for the Kid Press Corps – yup, washed up at 15! ๐Ÿ˜‰

So there is nothing like going out on a high note! I am very happy to announce that I and seven other Scholastic Kid Press Corps Reporters got an exclusive interview with First Lady Michelle Obama!

We interviewed Mrs. Obama about her last victory garden harvest at the White House, her experiences as First Lady, and what she plans to do next! We interviewed her in the Map Room in the White House.img_1842

I was also very happy to meet some of my fellow Kid Reporters, and my Scholastic editors in person. It is an AMAZING group!

It was great, as usual! I’m sad to see you end your Scholastic Kids Press career, but I’m absolutely certain that whatever you do next will be accomplished with the same brilliance, grace, and poise. Congratulations on your retirement. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Impressive! You mean we’ve known each other for six years? Wow, how time flies while one reads. Very nice interview. I’m so sorry you are washed up, but I have a “gut” feeling you will wash up onto an amazing shore and continue your journey. Happy Soon-To-Be Birthday, Erik!

Good job, buddy. Congratulations on your retirement. You are going out with a bang with that final interview. You asked the question that everyone was wondering.

It’s been fun watching you since you were 9+. Can’t believe you’ll be 15. I’m so impressed with what you have done in the short period of time. Not many people get to interview the First Lady. You look taller than Michelle Obama. Great opportunity and interview. Know that you will continue to grow and we’ll see even greater things for you.

Thank you very much Mrs. Tilton! That means a lot to me!
(and, actually, I think I was just around Mrs. Obama’s height, but she was sort of leaning to one side. ๐Ÿ™‚ )
